Thoughts of a Junior Nomad

Interviewing Christophe

Me, looking for pirates or whales in Rimouski.

Q: Hi. What is your name and how old are you?

A: My name is Christophe and I am nine years old. Almost ten!

Q: How did you first hear about your Nomad Life adventure?

A: Last summer, Mommy and Daddy spoke to me about buying an RV and they got the idea to travel all across the United States and South America for a long long trip.

I love food!!!

Q: What are you most excited about for Nomad Life?

A: I am excited about seeing animals that I have never seen before. I have never seen any jungle animals like monkeys. I think we will see all kinds of animals in South America. I am also excited about eating lots of delicious tacos. I love tacos. They are my favorite!

Q: What are you most nervous about for Nomad Life?

A: I am nervous about not seeing my best friend for a very long time. His name is Jakson. He is my best friend and we usually see each other often and have loads of fun together. We will be able to talk by Zoom so we will stay in touch.

Q: What do you think it will feel like to live in a motor home for one whole year?

A: It will feel weird because we won’t have as much space in the RV as we do in the house and I like to move around a lot. I am part of a gymnastics team and I will miss them. It will feel cool to visit new places like towns that we don’t know and we will get to visit new spots that we have never seen before.

Q: How will you do school while travelling?

On a boat in Gaspésie, with my dad.

A: I will be home-schooled by my mom. Sometimes, I will connect with my school on the internet to see them and let my class know where I am. There is good and there is bad. It will be bad because my teachers know the tricks to teach and I am used to them. But it will be good because my mom knows me very well and she can use that to teach me on the road.

Q: What advice would you give to other kids whose parents are thinking of travelling for long trips?

A: Like Maverick says: “Don’t think, just do.” Jump in, it could be fun! We just saw Top Gun and it was really good. I give it a nine out of ten!
