Nomad Life Rules!

By: Francis

Here I am, exploring in Gaspésie, waiting for whales.

Hello I am Francis, an eleven-year-old boy about to go on the trip of a lifetime that we are calling Nomad Life. I am currently in grade 6 and go to a school where I get to learn three languages: French, English and Spanish.

When Stephanie and Patrick (my parents, the people who created Nomad life) asked me to write a blog, I was delighted by the offer. I thought it would be a fun activity to get ready for high school since they do a lot writing there.

In this blog, I will be talking about my view of this trip. Nomad Life is just crazy because very few people travel outside of their country and stay for a month or two and only a micro faction of people actually travel for a whole year. Even less of those people use a motor home as their mode of transportation AND their house. The idea of Nomad Life is exciting but it does sound complicated to manage our life on the road.

What I am most excited about is visiting South America because it is a rare opportunity to finally use my Spanish language skills on a day-to-day basis.

Also, I have always loved camping!

Whether it be deep in the wild or beside other people, what I sleep in matters even less for me from a tent to an RV to a cabin. The way I see it, Nomad Life is about going on a super duper special really long camping trip with activities and learning but not just learning math and French but also learning life lessons including about other cultures and how they are different from us.

However, what I am most scared about is having to make new friends and catching up the routine of life when I get back because I will be starting in a new school since I graduate from elementary school this year.

Despite my fears, I am looking forward to the adventure. By the end of this trip, I will have a brain full of exceptional knowledge and incredible memories of this once in a lifetime experience.
